Bowers to Resign

Ralph S. Bowers, who for more than five years has been police officer in Martinsburg, and who for much of that time, has been secretary of borough council, borough health officer, etc., at the May meeting of borough council will hand in his resignation.

The officer is becoming one of the partners of the Cove Bottling Works.

The “freeze” on Tuesday was one of the most disastrous known in May for many years. Nearly a quarter of an inch was formed in the Cove.

No general celebration of V-E day will be held in Martinsburg, the matter being left to the individual church...
