Approximately 800 camping units with a total of about 3,200 persons will begin arriving at Memorial Park on May 29 for a Memorial Day weekend campout.

So far, everything looks great for another record fruit crop in the Cove.

A number of Rotarians from Martinsburg, Roaring Spring and Claysburg will attend the annual conference of the 41 clubs of District 735 at the Hershey Hotel, Hershey, Pa.

The final payment of $77,000 was made in March for the First Brethren Church of Martinsburg. A mortgage burning service was held April 26. The church was built in 1958 and 1959.

An E.F. Smith Motor Transportation Company truck was stopped Tuesday night along Rte. 45 at Seven Stars, Centre County, by a group of men who refused to allow the truck to pass through.

Incidents of road blocking and rock throwing have been reported throughout the state since the strike by independent steel haulers began several weeks ago.

There was no damage to the vehicle.
