Eighty-nine employees of the prestress concrete plant of the New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co., Inc., went on strike Thursday.
On the same day, a large storage barn on the NES&L property at Plum Creek was destroyed by fire. The cause of the fire has not been determined and it is under continuing investigation by the state police fire marshal.
A film festival of old-time motion pictures will be presented for children in grades 1 to 12 today at the Williamsburg Library.
