Two frosts in one week is a record for the fourth week in May.

Hail stones as large as hulled walnuts are said to have fallen and covered the ground in Fredericksburg.

A fine monument is to be dedicated at the Consolidated school grounds just outside Woodbury to honor those of this war who are in the armed services or who are likely to be in the service before peace comes.

Pfc. Jesse Cleveland Detwiler, 22 of Clappertown, who has been in the hands of the Germans since Oct. 6 last, is free again according to a brief letter received by his parents.
