The first baccalaureate service to be held in Bedford Hall in the college building was held in connection with the closing of the Morrisons Cove Vocational school on Sunday evening.

Thomas H. McMaster, former well-known resident of Taylor township, died at his home in Carrolltown, aged 65 years. For years he had lived on the McMaster farm southwest of Martinsburg.

A number of people from Martinsburg and vicinity left during the week to attend the general conference of the Brethren in Christ chuch in Ontario, Can.

Quite a number of farmers of the Cove were bringing their wheat to Martinsburg where $3 per bushel was being paid.

Heavy frosts were reported in Fredericksburg over the weekend.

Patrons of the Fredericksburg school met on Saturday and assisted the grammar room teacher, Walter Hess and Contractor R.S. Kensinger to put down a concrete walk around the building.

A family reunion was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Keiper of Roaring Spring.
