Employees of Champion Home Builders Co. at Claysburg walked off the job at 3:30 p.m., Friday and have been on strike since then.

The Spring Cove School Board adopted its 1970-71 budget by a split vote Monday night.

Herbert Decker is receiving applications for queen of the Martinsburg Volunteer Fire Company.

Albert J. Carper, 96, is the oldest member of the Martinsburg Brethren in Christ Church and was given the honor of turning the first spade of earth at groundbreaking ceremonies for the new parsonage.

A severe electrical storm accompanied by wind gusts up to 37 miles per hour, damaged the fieldhouse at the Spring Cove Athletic field.

Gerald T. “Book” Leidy of Martinsburg has begun an enlistment in the Navy.

Twenty-one couples participated in the Husband and Wife Tournament at Ironmasters Country Club.

The Walter Wareham barn in upper Snake Spring Valley was destroyed by fire Tuesday. Damage was more than $25,000.
