JOHN M. FOUSE

Rural Martinsburg

John M. Fouse, 90, of rural Martinsburg, passed away on Saturday morning, May 16, 2020, at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring.

He was born on Dec. 10, 1929, in Hesston, Huntingdon County, son of the late George H. and Marie C. (Troxell) Fouse. On Oct. 23, 1954, he married Darlene J. Imler at Mount Pleasant United Church of Christ, rural Martinsburg.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 65 years; a son, Duane A. Fouse of Henrietta; a daughter, Cheryl A. Fouse of Martinsburg; five grandchildren: J. Colton Fouse, S. Dylan Fouse, Matthew (Tracy) Fouse, Ridge Miller (Cortney Bowser) and Guy Miller; and four great-grandchildren: Zeiren, Peyton and Balon Fouse and Khloe Miller.

He was preceded in death by two sisters: Doris Delozier and Phyllis Cottrell; and a brother, Richard E. Fouse.

John was a 1947 graduate of Morrison Cove High School, Martinsburg. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1951 until 1953, attaining the rank of Corporal. John retired in 1992 as a lab technician in the Quality Control Department for New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. with 35 years of service.

He was a lifelong member of Mount Pleasant United Church of Christ, rural Martinsburg. John was also an active member of Henrietta Sportsmen's Club, where he served as the trout nursery manager for 15 years.

John loved camping with family and friends and also enjoyed hunting, working on cars and could fix about anything, he was true handyman.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all services will be private and interment will be held at Mount Pleasant Church Cemetery, rural Martinsburg.
