Resident at Maybrook Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Altoona, Formerly of Ore Hill

Sara Jane Brown, 78, a resident at Maybrook Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Altoona, formerly of Ore Hill, passed away on Saturday morning, May 23, 2020, at the home.

She was born on April 5, 1942, in Roaring Spring, the daughter of the late the Rev. Harvey C. and Hannah C. (Pearson) Feathers.

She married Kenneth V. Brown on Jan. 18, 1962, in Winchester, Va. He preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 2010.

She is survived by a daughter, Kelly Peters and husband Jeffrey of Gerrardstown, W.Va .; a grandson, Nathan Peters of Altoona; and two sisters: Helen Gibson and husband Orville of Royersford, and Bonnie Watkins of Three Springs.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Lois Walters and Dorothy Mackrell; and three brothers: Bob, Harvey Jr. and Wayne.

As a child, Sara had been a member of Ore Hill Union Church, where her father was minister.

She was a 1960 graduate of Morrison Cove High School, Martinsburg. Also in 1960 she was awarded the Betty Crocker Award.

She had been employed as a seamstress at Loungeray and had also drove school bus for the Spring Cove School District.

She enjoyed sewing and reading her Bible.

Due to the COVID-19 limitations, viewing and services will be private at he convenience of the family by Pastor Kathy Colebank. Interment will be made in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg, W.Va.
