Stephen J. Bucar, 83, of Williamsburg, passed away on Sunday evening, May 31, 2020, at UPMC Altoona.
He was born on Nov. 26, 1936, in Ganister, son of the late George S. and Annie R. (Mumich) Bucar. On Oct. 27, 1995, he married Virginia Lee (Deters) Marvich in Winchester, Va.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 25 years; two stepdaughters: Laura J. Appleman of Williamsburg and Shari L. Hinish of Altoona; a stepson, Joseph S. (Tiffany) Marvich of Altoona; and five step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five sisters: Mary Reynolds, Helen Berens, Barbara Nearhoof, Catherine Isenberg and Susan Merritts; a brother, Joseph S. Bucar; and a step-daughter, Shelly Marvich-Mills.
Stephen was a 1954 graduate of Williamsburg High School and a U.S. Army veteran. He worked as a machinist at SKF, Altoona, and also in the lab for Westvaco at the Tyrone and Williamsburg plants. Stephen retired as a mechanic from the Fonda Group in Williamsburg.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Williamsburg, and also the Bonner-Sollenberger American Legion Post 456, Williamsburg. Stephen loved hunting deer, working on old cars, repairing motors and was an avid reader.
Friends will be received from 12:30 until 2 p.m, today, Thursday, June 4, 2020, at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., http://www.bolgerfuneralhome.com, Williamsburg, where a funeral outside of mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m.
Interment with honors will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
Memorial contributions in memory of Stephen can be given to Williamsburg Public Library or St. Joseph Catholic Church, Williamsburg.
