New School Teachers Named

Herald of June 18, 1920

The North Woodbury school directors met at the South Martinsburg school Saturday and named new teachers. The board decided to close the Kensinger, the Kauffman and the Stonerook schools, in accordance with a recent act of the assembly. The pupils from these schools will be transported to other schools provided they lived more than a mile and a half away.

Fairview farm, north of Martinsburg, was the scene of a pleasant gathering Thursday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel S. Tussey.

A large straw shed was being erected at the farm home of Mr. and Mrs. Orlo Blough near Brumbaugh. A fine supper was served to the fifty-six men who assisted in getting the timbers in place.

A deadlock for the presidential nomination was broken Saturday evening when Pennsylvania’s 60 votes were cast for Senator Warren G. Harding of Ohio at the Republican convention in Chicago. John W. Blake, formerly of Martinsburg, attended the convention.
