VFW Post 43 Receives Box for Unusable Flags

Auxiliary Member Jim Fagans is shown depositing an unusable flag in the box he constructed and donated to the VFW Post 43 in Martinsburg. The box was decorated and painted by his sister-in-law Amanda Feight. The box is placed at the side entrance of the Post along Nicodemus Street in Martinsburg.

The D. Merl Tipton VFW Post 43, Martinsburg, now has a box for persons to deposit unusable flags, which will be properly disposed of at a later date at a Flag Retirement Ceremony.

Auxiliary Member Jim Fagans constructed the box and donated it to the Post so that unusable flags could be easily deposited and in a manner fitting for the living symbol of the United States of America. Jim's sister-in-law Amanda Feight affixed the stars and painted the box. A sign is posted above the box indicating its purpose.
