Flag-Raising at Acker School

The county court on Monday named John M. Smith as road supervisor of Huston township to take the place of Clarence L. Smith, resigned.

The Acker school in Huston township was to be the scene of a flag-raising on Friday.

The heaviest snow of the winter the previous week closed many of the highways in the Cove and some of the farmers were compelled to churn butter.

Important national news concerned the resignation of Franklin K. Lane who for seven years had been secretary of the interior in President Wilson’s cabinet.
