D. Merl Tipton VFW Seeking New Members; Funnel Cake Sale Still Held

Don Hunter, current VFW commander, and Tammy Hunter, auxiliary treasurer and Don's wife, think everyone should join. The Hunters are hoping that a boost in new, active members will help to bring fund levels back to normal after fundraising took a coronavirus hit.

The D. Merl Tipton VFW Post 43 is accepting new members. Don Hunter, current commander, and Tammy Hunter, Auxiliary treasurer and Don's wife, think everyone should join.

Because of the coronavirus shut-down, the donation coffers at Post 43 are lower than normal.

The local VFW prides itself on giving back to veterans and the community and does so in part, in the form of monetary donations. In the past year, approximately $30,000 has been donated to veterans groups and local community groups including Spring Cove sports teams and Teener League and Youth Baseball.
