Roaring Spring Substation Gets an Upgrade

Workers for Cleveland, Ohio-based Thayer Power & Communications perform grades to substation power lines near Roaring Spring, near the McDonald's restaurant). A Penelec spokesman said that the improvements should reduce the number of power outages that the Cove experiences.

Penelec has upgraded the substation near Roaring Spring, at the corner of Cove Mountain Road (State Route 164) and SR 36. A Penelec spokesman said that the upgrades were started in late 2019 and have included $100,000 worth of improvements. Poles have been replaced and worn switches have been replaced and lubricated so that "everything works as intended."
