IRENE L. ALBRIGHT

Resident at The Village of Morrisons Cove, formerly of Martinsburg

Irene L. Albright, 87, a resident of The Village at Morrisons Cove, Martinsburg, formerly of Roaring Spring, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at the home.

She was born on March 24, 1933, in Greenfield Township, a daughter of the late Sherman and Margaret (Dodson) Smith. She married Orville W. Albright Jr. on Sept. 5, 1953, in Roaring Spring. He preceded her in death on May 10, 1975.

Surviving are two daughters: Rose Marie Detwiler (husband George) of Martinsburg and Brenda (Jones) Pollard (husband Larry) of Coatesville; four grandchildren: Karla Myers, Khody Detwiler, Lucas Albright and Erica Albright-Ondrusek; three great-grandchildren: Hunter, Bronson and Khloe; a sister, Diane Bogel of Martinsburg; two brothers: Ronnie Smith of New Enterprise and Ricky Smith of Claysburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rachel; three sons: Sherman, Larry and Daryl; and 11 siblings.

Irene retired as a custodian for the Hollidaysburg School District in 1994. She was a member of Bare Memorial Church of God in Roaring Spring. She enjoyed decorating and working on her landscaping around her house; doing word-search puzzles, and spending time with her family.

A funeral was held on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at the Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., http://www.thompsonfh.com, Roaring Spring. Pastor Rachel Neely-Pletcher officiated.

Interment was held in Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring.
