You may have noticed a lack of coins in your pocket. You are not alone. All over the country, cashiers are scrambling to make change for those who use cash for purchases.
Local effects are mixed, with some retailers saying that they're being cut short while others are having no problems.
David Martin, owner of Peach Hill Orchard, said that his business began feeling the pinch just this past week.
"We were cut short this week on the coins we get from the bank but it didn't really affect us," Martin said.
He added that it hasn't yet become a problem in his store.
