'Building Bridges' Event Planned for Friday, July 31, to Honor First Responders

Blair County Sheriff James Ott announced an event to show support to front-line first responders called “Building Bridges for the Community.”
The event will be held starting at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2020.
This event is a collective effort of Blair County businesses, first responders, elected officials and county residents, with a focus on showing support to the front-line responders by bridging relationships and showing the support provided by the community.
There is no charge for participation in the event. Food and drink will be available for purchase.
The event will kick off with an organized march/walk from Prime Sirloin (Allegheny Township), that will end at Legion Park (Hollidaysburg). At 4:30 p.m., participants will assemble to participate in the march. The march/walk will then begin at 5:30 p.m. from the Prime Sirloin parking lot and proceed to Legion Park.
Anyone wishing to participate in the march to show support to the front- line responders is asked to assemble in the parking lot of Prime Sirloin.
Invited to attend are all front-line first responders and community members who wish to show support.
At Legion Park, guest speakers will provide positive words of encouragement and support to the community and first responders. There will also be entertainment (music).
A variety of food trucks will be on location for anyone interested in purchasing any food or beverages while attending the event.
The organizers of this event remind anyone participating that social distancing and suggested mask wearing is in effect for any outdoor gatherings as per the Pa. governor’s office.
