The people of Martinsburg were shocked when word reached the community on Aug. 6, that Stiles Irvin Miller, 15-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Miller of 3rd Ave., Altoona, had died at Nason hospital at 9:30 o’clock that forenoon as a result of injuries received in an automobile collision.

The young man was the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jerre Miller, well known couple of Martinsburg, and had been visiting at the home of the grandparents. About 7 o’clock he left the town on a truck of the May bakery operated by his uncle, J. Nevin May.
