Companies Receive Grants to Help Fight Wildfires

In recognition of the service and sacrifice of volunteer firefighters throughout Pennsylvania, the Wolf Administration on July 21 announced $591,975 in new funding to help rural communities guard against the threat of wildfires in the state’s forests and other undeveloped areas.

Recently approved grants for area fire companies include:

• Geeseytown Community Fire Company, Hollidaysburg, $1,839

• Williamsburg Volunteer Fire Company Number 1, $5,000
