The 20th annual Morrisons Cove Dairy Show opened Tuesday at Memorial Park with the FFA dairy competition. The 4-H dairy judging was held Wednesday.
Martinsburg will continue to have an unmarked police car according to a vote by Borough Council.
There were 182 persons in attendance at the Cove Lions Club’s 23rd anniversary of its charter at the Loysburg Community Building.
Production records have been announced for two registered Holsteins on the Clover-Will Farms. Marcove Charmer Jubilet, a three-year-old, produced 18,880 lbs. milk and 789 lbs. butterfat in 298 days. Rosette Clover-Will Chief, a two-year-old, had 16,030 lbs. milk and 650 lbs. butterfat in 305 days compared to the estimated annual output of 8,821 lbs. milk and 325 lbs. butterfat by the average dairy cow.
The Rev. John Mullen was appointed pastor of the Williamsburg-Cove Forge Parish.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Treese of E. 3rd St., Williamsburg, celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary.
