The annual Farmers’ Picnic held during the latter part of August at Henrietta once was the major social event of Morrisons Cove.

It brought together farm families from throughout the region. Bands from communities in the area made music. Leaders in religion, business and politics spoke. Visitors came by special train from Altoona and Hollidaysburg. But most of all the attraction was centered in the food prepared by the housewives of the Cove....
