Man Kills 7-Foot Snake

Anthony Garver killed a black snake on the mountain above Martinsburg. It measured seven feet three inches.

Seven Martinsburg men rode their bicycles to Bedford Springs on Saturday. They went on to Everett on Sunday and had dinner at the Union Hotel before returning. They were William Bolger, John Skyles, W.S. Nicodemus, R.T. Eldon, Ed. Nicodemus, J.W. Mentzer and Robert Sipes.

Grading was to begin soon for a new railroad connecting Philipsburg and Altoona.
