Mathias Glass, former Henrietta resident, was instatly killed on the railroad near the brick plant west of the Three Culverts, Saturday morning, while on his way to work.
George W. Patterson, chairman of the Blair county Republican committee, issued a notice directing attention to the fact that as a result of the recent action taken by the legislature of Tennessee the rquired number of states had ratified the amendment to the United States constitution giving women of the country the right to vote. He instructed all women to be registered so that they would be eligible to vote.
At a meeting of the school board of Huston township held at Mines on Saturday, the plans for a new school building at that place were adopted.
A farewell social was held the previous Wednesday at Pigeon Spring located on the farm of Rev. Henry Koontz three miles south of Loysburg in honor of Elder George of Strausbaugh of Ohio who left for home Friday after having held a series of meetings at the Koontz Church of the Brethren.
