Central Looking for 4th Straight Victory

Week 4 of the high school football season is upon us, and one team in the Morrisons Cove Herald's coverage area remains perfect.

The Central Dragons sport a 3-0 record as they travel to Huntingdon (0-3) on Friday, Oct. 2, for a Mountain League matchup.

In the Inter-County Conference, Claysburg-Kimmel (1-2) will travel to Juniata Valley (2-1), Northern Bedford (2-1) will entertain Everett (0-3) and Williamsburg (1-2) will host Bellwood-Antis (3-0).

All games are scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m.

Central @ Huntingdon

The Dragons are perfect through three weeks after scoring a 40-14 win at Philipsburg-Osceola on Sept. 25. Friday's game will be Central's fourth straight road game of the season. The Dragons will play Clearfield in their home opener Oct. 9, the first of four consecutive games at Roaring Spring Athletic Field.

Huntingdon, meanwhile, which is looking for its first win of 2020, is coming off a 51-14 loss at Tyrone on Sept. 25.

Since 2008, the Dragons own a 10-3 series advantage over the Bearcats. Huntingdon, however, has won the previous two meetings (2018 and 2019) after losing seven straight from 2012 through 2017.

Friday's game can be seen on broadcast on Atlantic Broadband Public Access, Channel 13.

C-K @ Juniata Valley

Claysburg-Kimmel enters Friday's game having lost its last two games. After losing to Tussey Mountain in overtime Sept. 18, the Bulldogs lost at Southern Huntingdon on Sept. 25, 18-7.

Juniata Valley rebounded from a loss at Williamsburg on Sept. 18 with a 65-13 win against Everett on Sept. 25.

The Green Hornets have dominated the series against the Bulldogs since 2004, having won 15 of the 17 contests. C-K's only wins were 34-26 in 2008 and 29-15 in 2017.

Everett @ Northern

Bedford

The Panthers will welcome Everett to Panther Community Stadium on Homecoming Night.

After its loss to Juniata Valley on Sept. 25, the Warriors are still searching for their first win of 2020.

Northern Bedford, meanwhile, has bounced back with consecutive victories since falling to Bellwood-Antis in the season opener. The Panthers won at Moshannon Valley on Sept. 25, 56-7.

Northern Bedford has posted a 12-5 record against Everett since 2004. The two teams have split their last four meetings. The Panthers shut out the Warriors last year, 27-0.

B-A @ Williamsburg

Bellwood-Antis moved to 3-0 after a 47-0 win over visiting Glendale on Sept. 25.

Williamsburg, which snapped a 21-game losing streak Sept. 18, lost on the road to Tussey Mountain on Sept. 25, 27-0.

B-A has won the last two games against WHS, having won in 2016, 34-6, and in 2017, 45-0.

Looking Ahead

In Week 5 action Oct. 9, Central will host Clearfield, C-K will entertain Williamsburg and Northern Bedford will be at home against Juniata Valley.
