B-A Overcomes Slow Start in Win at WHS

Williamsburg welcomed unbeaten Bellwood-Antis to town Friday, Oct. 2, and jumped out to a 6-0 lead. B-A, however, controlled the remainder of the game and rolled to a 35-6 victory.

B-A improved to 4-0, while the Blue Pirates fell to 1-3.

Andrew McMonagle scored on a 5-yard run to cap a 55-yard drive on the Blue Pirates’ opening drive. The 2-point conversion attempt failed.

B-A’s Zach Mallon and Nick Plank each scored two touchdowns. Mallon had 13 carries for 178 yards, while Plank added 74 yards on 11 carries.

The Blue Devils had 408 total yards to the Blue Pirates’ 169.

WHS quarterback Lambert Palmer nine of 19 passes for 84 yards. Wes McCall had five catches for 54 yards. Foster England added 34 yards on three carries.

WHS will travel to Claysburg-Kimmel (1-3) on Friday, Oct. 9. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Bulldog Stadium.
