Most of September, 27 days, showed temperatures reaching above 65 degrees, with 21 days in the 70s. Only 1.79 inches if rain were reported by the Flight Data Center at Blair County Airport for the month. The high for the month was 87 degrees and the low fell to 34 degrees.Hurricane Opal brought rain Tuesday evening, Oct. 3, which continued through Wednesday and Thursday. The hurricane that caused extensive damage in the Southeast provided much-needed rain, 1.47 inches, for Cove residents.
