W-burg Votes for Reservoir

Williamsburg voters settled the water question by casting a majority of 45 votes in favor of building a reservoir in Snare’s Hollow rather than at the spring. The reservoir was to be high enough to put a pressure of 80 pounds to the square inch, enough to throw water over the highest house in town. The water was analyzed and found to be perfectly pure and soft. This of itself was said to be a might good argument in favor of nature’s best beverage. The Herald was informed that a party went over the proposed route for the mains and work would commence at once.
