NBC

Northern Bedford pushed Bellwood-Antis to the limit in Game one before falling in three straight to the home Blue Devils in Volleyball action Oct. 8. After the Blue Devils squeaked by with a 26-24 win in Game 1, things got a little easier. Bellwood took 25-10 and 25-12 wins in the next two games to take the 3-0 win in the contest.

Lainie Sipes and Lydia Byler each had six service points for the Panthers, while Addie Sipes had five kills. Lainie Sipes added 12 digs and Byler had six assists for NB. The Panthers are 1-6 overall.

Northern Bedford started strong with a 25-21 win against Fannett-Metal. Game 2 was going well until a two-point F-M lead, at 14-12, went south and ended in a 25-14 loss. The Tigers duplicated that in the third game, another 25-14 win before routing NB 25-12 in the final game for a 3-1 win.

Addie Sipes had eight service points, seven assists and five kills for NB. Makayla Kochara also had five kills.

NBC lost 3-0 to McConnellsburg, 25-18, 25-19, 25-7 in a home contest Oct. 8. The Panthers traded leads with the Spartans early in Game 1 and again in Game 2 but lost momentum in the end of each game. The Panthers fell flat in the third and final game and were dominated as the Spartans swept the match.

Lizzie Long had four kills, Makayla Kochara had three blocks and Jenna Carberry had five service points for the Panthers, now 1-8.

Central

Central hosted Everett on Oct. 5 and fell in four sets, 25-18, 23-25, 25-18, 25-17. Mackenzie Saylor served a team-high 14 points for the Lady Dragons. Brinley Bowers had 16 assists, while Brooke Claar contributed seven kills.

Penns Valley visited Central on Oct. 6 and picked up a 25-22, 25-22, 25-17 victory. Kirsten Ayers and Brinley Bowers each had five service points for the Lady Dragons. Bowers added 17 assists, while Brooke Claar had 10 kills.

At Bald Eagle Area on Oct. 8, Central fell in straight sets, 25-20, 25-7, 25-17. Hailey Mingle led CHS with five service points. Brinley Bowers added 10 assists, while Addie Smith contributed five kills.

C-K

The Claysburg-Kimmel High School volleyball team earned a five-set victory at Mount Union on Oct. 6.

The Lady Bulldogs won by the scores of 27-25, 18-25, 26-15, 23-25, 15-13.

Ally Dicken led C-K with 27 service points, while Haileigh Reed served for 22 points. Harleigh Cavender had 12 assists and Dicken 10.

Emalee Cavender had eight kills, while Haileigh Reed contributed six kills.
