The Salemville community was the scene of a distressing accident on Monday evening when John H. Baker, a prominent resident of the place, was instantly killed when he fell under the wheels of a threshing machine.
The machine was being taken from the Guyer farm to the Fetter farm and while no one witnessed the accident it was presumed that Mr. Baker tripped and fell under the wheels. He was crushed about the head and chest.
