EDWARD L. PARK

Martinsburg

Edward L. Park, 97, of Martinsburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 14, 2020, at Homewood at Martinsburg.

He was born April 2, 1923, in Clearfield, the son of the late Alexander and Emma (Henwood) Park. He married Myra Lucille Ross on April 13, 1946, in Lewistown. She preceeded him in death June 2, 2011.

He is survived by a daughter, Avis R. Schreier and husband Gary J. of Martinsburg; four grandchildren: Garett E. Schreier and wife Cindy of Beckley, W.Va., Jonathan B. Schreier and wife Denita of Barnett, Wis., Myra Ann Foutris and husband Basileios of Chicago, Ill., and Jenilynn Jensen and husband Kenneth of Corpus Christi, Texas; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joanne Greenland and husband Elwood of Duncansville.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Revenda L. Park, who passed away April 3, 2010; and three brothers and two sisters.

Edward was a graduate of Robertsdale High School and had attended MIT and Harvard.

He retired as a Federal Aviation administrator with more than 30 years of service and had previously worked for various airlines.

He was a United States Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

He enjoyed golfing, gardening, boating with his family and, following his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed their time in Sarasota, Fla.

He was a member of the Shrine in Sarasota, Fla., and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

A funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family by the Rev. Gerald McCuller.

Interment with military honors will be made in Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Edward's memory may be given to Homewood at Martinsburg Benevolent Fund.
