Greenfield Township Revises Burning Ordinance

The Greenfield Township Board of Supervisors approved a revision to the township’s burning ordinance at the request of township residents during their Nov. 4 meeting.

The original ordinance required open burning to occur at least 50 feet from any building, structure, or road edge, but was amended to at least 30 feet to allow for fire pits closer to buildings.

The individuals requesting the change paid for solicitor and advertising fees associated with the modification, so as not to spend taxpayer dollars on the issue.
