An inventory of commercial and professional services in Martinsburg was carried on the front page. It showed the town, with population of about 1,200, had four general stores, three hardware stores, two furniture stores, two meat markets, two millinery stores, two jewelers, two coal yards, one grocery, one bakery, one drug store and one bank.
The town also had four blacksmith shops, three harness manufacturers, two liveries, two tin shops, two coal yards, two flour mills, two grain warehouses, two dairies, two buggy and carriage factories, one incubator factory, one...
