As the number of COVID-19 cases continue to rise, local municipalities are again altering the way public meetings are held.
Martinsburg Borough Manager Rich Brantner Jr., said he is going to ask council to conduct its next meeting, scheduled for Monday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. remotely. Martinsburg has been holding in-person meetings with the option to participate remotely.
Brantner said anyone who wishes to participate in the council meeting should call the borough office for information on how to connect to the meeting.
Roaring Spring Borough is going remote for its next meeting, scheduled for Monday, Dec. 14, at 6 p.m. To participate, residence should call the borough office no later than noon on Dec. 14 for directions on how to access the meeting.
Lisa Dishong, office manager for Williamsburg Borough, said the upcoming meeting scheduled for on Monday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. will be in-person. Dishong said council chambers has been set up to ensure social distancing and that face covering will be required. Dishong said decisions on how to hold meetings will be made on a month to month basis.
“We are in-person at this time, I’m not saying it won’t change, it just depends on what is happening,” she said.
Greenfield Township will also continue to hold in-person meetings with the option for people to participate by phone. but will limit the number of people in the building.
Greenfield’s next meeting is scheduled to Tuesday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m. Anyone who wishes to participate by phone should call the township office for information.
Freedom Township is holding its meetings in-person with social distancing and mask requirement.
