Mother and Daughter Combine Businesses And Form 'The Garage' in Woodbury

A new business opened in August at 2673 Woodbury Pike, Woodbury. "The Garage" is a mixture of authentic, rustic, classic and chic.

This business is a combination of two businesses in one. It is home to "The Rusted J" owned by Lisa Jay and "Walnut Tree Lane" owned by Marcy Smith. This mother and daughter team has opened a shopping space for the community.

According to Jay, the items are unique and one of a kind. There is a waiting list of vendors who would like a space in their business. Each month they bring in one or two vendors from the community to help keep it fresh, share talents and help the vendors' business.

The products are refurbished and thoughtfully upcycled pieces that create a paradox of emotions by being excitingly new and invitingly familiar.

Due to limited supply and availability, they are opened one weekend a month. However, they are also open on special occasions. To find out when they are open follow them on Facebook under THE GARAGE WOODBURY.

The owners embrace their community with a community love project. Each month they will ask for a donation of maybe a blanket, canned goods or a monetary donation. If you donate your name is entered into a drawing for a $10 gift certificate. This money is then given to children in the community needing a hand for a medical condition or the homeless who need blankets. The need will change on a monthly basis.

The business will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 12-13.
