Doris E. McCarty, 77, of Claysburg, passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring, after a lengthy illness.
She was born Dec. 30, 1942, in Roaring Spring, the daughter of the late Orville C. and Clara E. (Mentzer) Weitzel. She married William R. McCarty, Jr. on Sept. 27, 2001.
She is survived by her husband; two children: Deborah Flickenger (John) of Franklin and Jeffrey Eckard (Michele) of Bedford; four grandchildren: John Flickenger, Jacob Flickenger (Brandy), Summer Eckard and Olivia Eckard; two great-grandchildren: Ian and Layla; three stepchildren: Bobbie Weyant of Imler and Karie Claycomb (Kristopher) and Mindy Ritchey, all of Claysburg; 10 step-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter; and a sister, Janet A. Weitzel of Claysburg.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica Flickenger; three brothers: Paul E. “Tom” Weitzel, Fred Weitzel and Alvin Weitzel; and two sisters: Ruth Weitzel and Sally Karcz.
Doris attended the Queen United Methodist Church.
She attended Morrison Cove High School, Martinsburg.
Doris enjoyed playing games on her computer.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or services.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Doris’ memory may be given to the Queen United Methodist Church.
