Herald of Dec. 21. 1995

Douglas J. Fleegle had been appointed the new executive director of Homewood Retirement Community at Martinsburg. Fleegle had been the administrator at Homewood’s health care center in Martinsburg since July 1992. Fleegle succeeded Linda N. Frederick, who had held the post of executive director since it was created in 1992.

Area residents who may had been concerned about that Christmas might be without snow could breathe a sigh of relief. The snowy weather began with a light freezing drizzle on Monday, Dec. 18, which intensified and continued throughout the night. About four or fives inches of snow fell on top of a heavy layer of ice.

Northern Bedford sophomore A.J. Nastasi surpassed the 1,000-point mark during the Panthers’ 64-56 win over Southern Fulton on Dec. 17. He was the sixth NB player to reach 1,000 career points. However, none of the other five reached that mark by the sixth game of his sophomore year. Nastasi finished with 22 points in the win. Chris Muthler and Zach Sorrells added 16 and 12 points, respectively.
