I do not like saying goodbye. I suppose most people are the same way. For years I served on a national board associated with our fellowship of churches. Twice a year about a dozen of us got together from around the country with the goal of making local churches more effective and having greater evangelistic impact. We would meet in different locations to plan, pray, review finances, evaluate, make hard decisions, and visit churches that were making a difference and being creative.
