Wheels of Joy Offers Help

This year, 44 families in the community were blessed by the Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church cycling ministry’s Wheels of Joy project. It provided Christmas presents, toy store gift cards, furniture, household items and gift cards for food, gas and clothing to the families. The Spring Cove School District assists MGBC cycling by providing a list of families who could use a helping hand.

George Acker of Clover Creek has announced his 32nd annual forecast.

Mr. Acker, 88, predicts January to be mixed with rain and snow. He said July will feature “violent thunderstorms.”

The Cove’s famous weather forecaster said the weather in August through December will be average, with rain and snow in November and December.

The Williamsburg Lady Pirates’ basketball team improved to 4-0 with a hard-fought 48-40 win against Claysburg-Kimmel Dec. 21.
