Low Bidder on Bypass

The New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. was the apparent low bidder for the construction of the Route 36 bypass of Loysburg. NES&L submitted a bid of $6,081,203, nearly $1.2 million below the second lowest of the eight bids received by the State Transportation Department on Dec. 28 at Harrisburg.

It was announced that the Roaring Spring Giant Eagle would undergo expansion and renovation this year that would cost approximately $2 million and would more than double the floor space of the facility.
