'Butch' Giarth's Passing Leaves 'Unfillable Void' in Freedom Township

Freedom Township said goodbye on Friday, Jan. 8, to Daniel "Butch" Giarth Jr., a man who Pastor Ed Jeliff said "breathed life" into his community.
Township officials, along with firefighters, family, and police officers from across the Cove, gathered at the Freedom Township Fire Hall to pay tribute to Giarth, a long-time Freedom Township supervisor and volunteer firefighter who passed away on Dec. 30 at the age of 61.
