KENNETH E. FORSHEY

Duncansville, formerly of Martinsburg

Kenneth E. Forshey, 69, of Duncansville, formerly of Martinsburg, passed away late Saturday, January 9, 2021 at his home, following an extended illness.

He was born March 28, 1951, in Roaring Spring, son of Richard E. Forshey and the late Anna Ada (Huntsman) Forshey. On April 4, 1981, he married Brenda A. Conner at Carson Valley Church of the Brethren, rural Duncansville.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 39 years; his father of Martinsburg; a son, Michael E. Forshey (wife, Mary) of Harrisburg; a daughter, Michelle A. Davis (husband, Matthew) of Hollidaysburg; four grandchildren: Ella E. Forshey, Connor E. Forshey, Noah L. Davis and Emma G. Davis; and a brother, Paul R. Forshey (Audrey Dentith) of Oak Ridge, N.C.

Ken was a 1969 graduate of Central High School, Martinsburg, and also earned a certificate for Agricultural Sales and Service from Pennsylvania State University, State College.

He was a lifetime member of Martinsburg Memorial Church of the Brethren, where he served as an usher and also counted the offering during Sunday service. Ken retired in 2006 from Forshey's Inc., Martinsburg. He started there as a service man while still in high school, later worked in sales and eventually retired from the parts department, with more than 35 years of loyal service.

Ken loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed collecting toy tractors (Allis Chalmers), tractor pulling, watching NASCAR and Star Trek.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private funeral service will be held at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, Pastor Chris Garretson will officiate. Private interment will follow at Carson Valley Cemetery, rural Duncansville.
