JOHN RUSSELL THOMAS

Hebron, Ohio, formerly of Morrisons Cove

John Russell Thomas, 72, of Hebron, Ohio, passed away Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, at Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark, Ohio.

John was born April 17, 1948, in Roaring Spring, to the late John Vincent and Hazel (Cunningham) Thomas.

John was a 1966 graduate of Central High School, Martinsburg, where he was the class clown. He faithfully served his country and was a veteran of the United States Army. John was a truck driver (owner/operator) for 50 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and the C.B. radio where he was known by the handle of "Secret Agent."

He is survived by his loving wife, Cathie Marie (Garrett) Thomas; four children: Steve Clevenger of North Carolina, Johna Watson of Wilkins Corner, Ohio, Heather Wood of Thornville, Ohio, and Daniel Thomas of Hebron, Ohio; grandchildren: Alaina Lewis, Dakota Wood, Lydia Clevenger, Landon Watson and Cora Redman; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Connie Thomas of Roaring Spring; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Roy Lee Thomas and Kenneth Thomas; and son-in-law, Andrew Watson.

At his request, no visitation or funeral will be observed.
