Blue Pirates Improve to 9-1

The Williamsburg High School boys' basketball team rebounded from its only loss of the season with a 94-45 victory over visiting Moshannon Valley on Feb. 17.

After suffering a 67-57 loss at Northern Bedford on Feb. 16, the Blue Pirates raced to a 52-29 halftime lead against MV. WHS outscored MV 42-16 in the second half.

Junior Lambert Palmer poured in a game-high 24 points for WHS. Senior Josiah Dowey drained three 3-pointers and finished with 19 points in the win. Senior Drew Hileman added 13 points, while sophomore ? Kagarise contributed 10 points, including two 3-pointers.

• WHS 75, West Branch 59: The host Blue Pirates broke open a close game with a 41-26 run over the second and third quarters en route to a 75-59 win over West Branch on Feb. 19.

Four players scored in double figures to lead WHS. Junior Lambert Palmer led the team with 20 points, followed by senior Shane Brantner with 26, senior Drew Hileman with 15 and senior Tyler Clark with 10. Josiah Dowey added nine points, including two 3-pointers.

• WHS 78, Juniata Valley 65: The Blue Pirates improved to 9-1 overall following a 78-65 win at Juniata Valley on Feb. 20. WHS used a 44-36 run over the second and third quarters en route to the victory.

Junior Lambert Palmer poured in a game-high 27 points for WHS. Senior Drew Hileman added 15 points, while Aidan Frew (two 3-pointers) and senior Josiah Dowey each contributed 11 points.
