CKHS Girls Win 3 of 4 Games

The Claysburg-Kimmel High School girls’ basketball team traveled to Meyersdale on Feb. 16 and was handed a 49-39 setback.

Meyersdale led 26-24 at halftime and had a 23-15 scoring advantage in the second half.

Juniors Rebekah Claar (three 3-pointers) and Bailey Garver each scored 14 points for C-K.

• C-K 54, West Branch 50: Claysburg-Kimmel used a 20-14 fourth-quarter run to defeat host West Branch 54-50 Feb. 17. The teams were tied at 24-24 at halftime before WB took a 36-34 lead into the final eight minutes. That set up the Lady Bulldogs' rally in the fourth quarter.

Junior Bailey Garver drained four 3-pointers and led C-K with 14 points. Junior Rebekah Claar hit two 3-pointers and added 12 points, while senior Kalei Carson contributed 10 points.

C-K shot 13-for-27 from the foul line, West Branch 10-for-15.

• C-K 29, West Branch 25: A 17-4 run over the course of the second and third quarters helped C-K earn a 29-25 win at West Branch on Feb. 19.

Junior Rebekah Claar connected for three 3-pointers en route to a game-high 13 points to lead the Lady Bulldogs. Senior Kalei Carson contributed eight points.

• C-K 46, West Branch 24: C-K stormed out to a 28-5 lead at halftime and cruised to a 46-24 victory at West Branch on Feb. 20.

Junior Bailey Garver hit three 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 15 points. Junior Rebekah Claar (two 3-pointers) and senior Kalei Carson each added 11 points for the Lady Bulldogs.
