Albright Named to Board

Nevin L. Albright of Roaring Spring was appointed to fill a vacancy on the Spring Cove School Board, which was created by the resignation of J. Calvin Lang in February. The board’s salary negotiations with the district’s teachers were reported to be at a standstill.

The Frank Clapper of Williamsburg was awarded a check for $10,000 as part of a giveaway by sunset house.

Richard Heuston of Roaring Spring RD was named mill service foreman at Combined Paper Mills.

Dave Myers was elected president of the Williamsburg Jaycees.

The Henrietta Sportsmen’s Association acquired the title to a 12-acre site behind the Henrietta election house that was to be used for its club grounds.

The Northern Bedford School Board approved an overnight pre-season football camp to be held at the R.P. Smith School.

Gary Beaver and Randy Haney of Williamsburg and Mark Dodson of Claysburg were named to the Juniata Valley League all-star team.
