Martinsburg Library Reports Usage Returning to Normal

Letters for joining the Martinsburg Community Friends of the Library are in the mail. Watch for yours to join the Friends and help the library with your contribution.

The next meeting of the Friends is May 18 at 7 p.m. at the library.

Danette Feathers, librarian, reports that the number of patrons coming into the library is at about 50 percent of the pre-COVID-19 number. But this January circulation was 80 percent compared to last year and February was 95 percent.

She reminds us that masks are required to enter the library.

The library board is preparing theme baskets as a fund raiser each month.

The library is accepting used books in good shape for the book sale which is scheduled for May 27, 28 and 29.

The Cove Book Club will meet on Tuesday, April 13 at 1:30 p.m. to discuss “H is for Hawk” by Helen McDonald. The book is available at the library. New members are welcome.

Story Hour will continue to be virtual until the end of the year. Summer Reading, which is titled “Tales to Tails,” will also be virtual.

Paper logs can be picked up at the library. On July 9, an author will be at the library to talk about his book about ferrets.
