Roaring Spring Woman Earns President's Award

Alyssa Reed, 20, of Roaring Spring, and a sophomore at Juniata College in Huntingdon, has recently been awarded the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Community Service through Mrs. Jackie Russo, owner and co-director of Beauty, Brains and Heart.

In 2003, the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation founded the President’s Volunteer Service Award to recognize the important role of volunteers in America. This award honors individuals whose service positively affects communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to take action too.
