PennDOT Reminds Drivers About Hot Car Kid Safety

PennDOT has learned from Kids and Car Safety organization that a North Carolina 5-month-old baby lost her life after being left alone in a hot car on Sunday, April 25. This was the first reported hot car death of the year. PennDOT and other safety partners are emphasizing the importance of education and public awareness about leaving children in cars – even briefly – in the summertime.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is reminding Pennsylvanians as warmer weather approaches to be extra cautious with children and animals in vehicles.
