Janet A. Leidy

Williamsburg

Janet Arlene Leidy, 83, of rural Williamsburg, went home to be with her Lord, Sunday afternoon, May 2, 2021, at UPMC Altoona.

She was born June 3, 1937, in Williamsburg, daughter of the late Harry D. and Grace C. (Grove) Loose.

She married Ronald G. Leidy Nov. 25, 1958, at Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years: three daughters: Lawr B. Leidy of Huntingdon, Mary Lois Phelps (Chuck) of Williamsburg and Virginia G. Roberts (Douglas) of Loretto; a son, Marshall R. Leidy (Karlin Bellew) of Williamsburg; 10 grandchildren: Anaya Leidy, Lindsey Phelps, Caitlin Davis, Douglas Roberts, Emily Leidy, Sarah Leidy, Brandon Leidy, Bennett Leidy, Daniel Roberts and Bergen Leidy; four great-grandchildren: Scarlett, Easton, Rosalyn and Luke; and a brother, Richard W. Loose (Phyllis) of Tallahassee, Fla.

Janet was preceded in death by a brother and his wife, H. Donald and Janet Loose.

She was a 1955 graduate of Williamsburg High School. Janet was a longtime member of Fairview Church of the Brethren, Williamsburg, where she attended Sunday school and was active in Women’s Fellowship.

Janet worked as a secretary for Westvaco Pulp & Paper Mill, Williamsburg and for many years as a florist for Leidy’s Greenhouse in Williamsburg.

She was a proud farm wife and homemaker, who loved taking care of her family. Janet also enjoyed reading, gardening, canning, baking, cross stitch and doing puzzles.

All services at this time will be private; and a celebration of Janet’s life will be announced at a later date.
