The Leon E. Kensinger Memorial Award was presented to the family of Elvin R. Burket. Honored for outstanding service in the field of education, Mr. Burket taught school from 1918 until 1970.

Students from Mrs. Patricia Leonard’s Spanish classes at Central High School (CHS) competed at the 22nd annual Foreign Language Festival at St. Francis University, Loretto. This event, sponsored by the Appalachian Professional Language Educators’ Society, includes many academic and non-academic events that pertain to world languages.
